  • Research shows that components found in cranberry may help prevent bacteria, such as E. coli, from clinging to the cells along the walls of the urinary tract and causing infection. Findings from a few laboratory studies suggest that cranberry may have antioxidant properties.

  • Bacillus Coagulans is a type of probiotic bacteria that produces lactic acid in the gut. It is sometimes called Lactobacillus Sporogenes, but it is distinct from other strains of lactobacillus. Bacillus Coagulans has been shown to promote a healthy balance of bacteria in the urinary tract by increasing the numbers of beneficial bacteria, which can prevent the growth of harmful bacteria. Additionally, it produces antimicrobial compounds that can inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria, including E. coli which is the cause of most UTIs.

  • Vitamin C is thought to have an effect in UTIs by acidifying the urine. Making the urine acidic can help keep bacteria down. Vitamin C also acts as an antioxidant, helping to protect cells from the damage caused by free radicals.
